Asif Qureshi
Chairman/Chief ExecutiveAsif Qureshi has more than 20 years of experience in Pakistan’s financial sector with expertise in economic and investment research. He started his career in banking in 1996 and moved into equity research in 1999, joining Indosuez W. I. Carr Securities Pakistan, where he rose to the position of head of research in 2001. He later headed research at Global Securities before pursuing entrepreneurial path to co-found Invisor Securities in 2004 and later Optimus Capital in 2011. He has also worked as a consultant for the ADB and the Petroleum Institute of Pakistan and has also been associated with IBA as a member of visiting faculty. He is also a co-founder of Zakheera.com, an online financial database service. Asif Qureshi is a CFA charter-holder since 2000. He also holds MA International Financial Analysis (Distinction) from Newcastle University (UK), MBA from Quaid-i-Azam University and B.Sc. (Maths & Physics) from Punjab University.
Syed Ayaz Ahmed

Ayaz Ahmed has over 12 years of experience in the fields of accounts, finance, compliance, corporate, internal control and audit with leading financial service providers of Pakistan. He holds Master’s degree with major in finance. He completed his Chartered Accountancy articleship from RSM Avais Hyder Liaquat Nauman Chartered Accountants. He gained diversified financial sector experience by working in some of industry’s top tier companies like Faysal Asset Management and United Bank Limited. During his tenure in Optimus Capital Management (Pvt) Ltd, he rendered his services as head of different departments.
Yasin Iqbal Kodvavi
Head of Equities
Yasin Kodvavi has over 7 years of formal experience in Pakistan’s Equities Market. His career started in multiple roles at Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas and more recently he has served as Director at Iqbal Usman Kodvavi Securities (Private) Limited. Yasin holds a BBA from University of Houston in Finance and Management Information Systems and has also successfully created the CFA Level 1 exam and is actively pursuing his CFA Charter.

Head of Online TradingAdeel Ahmed is an Executive Vice President / Head of Online Retail and has a vast experience of more than 20 years of working in the capital markets industry. Skilled in developing Online Trading, Branch Networks, social media, Risk Management, Sales & Marketing and Retail desk. He has been previously associated with company like BMA, IGI Taurus Securities, Foundation Securities and Arif Habib limited.
Maaz Azam
Head of Research
Maaz Azam, inspired by his time at Optimus Capital Management, is passionate about investments. With a diversified background spanning 5 years, he has delved into engineering, risk management, and finally into investments. Commencing his professional journey at Aish Steel Mills, Maaz subsequently navigated through roles at Descon Engineering, Lahore and Pak Brunei Investment. He holds a degree in Mechanincal Engineering form NUST and MBA from IBA Karachi. He has also cleared CFA Level 2 exam and is pursuing CFA Charter.
Salman Zaidi
Head of Money MarketSalman Zaidi started his career in financial market in 1998. Prior to joining Optimus Capital, he worked as a Head of Fixed Income at Invisor Securities and Crescent Capital Management for over 5 years. He has also served as a Senior Executive and Dealer Money Market at Crescent Capital Management. Salman Zaidi also worked with Mumtaz Enterprises as SVP Money Market. He has an extensive experience of around 20 years in Money and Bond Markets together with specialization in Brokerage and Corporate Advisory Role that have helped him in maintaining portfolio for his clients. Mr. Salman holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Karachi.
Muhammad Ovais
Head of Equity SettlementsMuhammad Ovais has a vast experience of more than 20 years in Equity Settlements. He started his career in 1994 and served for more than a decade in well reputed brokerage houses of the Pakistan Stock Exchange which include Munaf Sattar Securities, Salim Chamdia Securities and Invisor Securities. His enriched experience in the field of equity brokerage provided him in-depth knowledge of settlement procedures and systems applicable in back office, CDC, NCHS, NCSS and KATS functions together with the knowledge of brokerage accounting and prevalent regulations provided him with added advantage in advancement throughout his career.
