We are a TREC holder of Pakistan Stock Exchange (“PSX”) and licensed by the Securities & Exchange Commission of Pakistan (“SECP”). Optimus Markets is an accredited broker of the Financial Markets Association of Pakistan (“FMAP”).

Jawad Amjad

Chief Executive Officer

Jawad Amjad has over 28 years of financial sector experience spanning commercial and investment banking, stock brokerage, private equity, and entrepreneurship.
He co-founded two stock brokerage companies and a private equity company. Jawad has led some of the largest M&A transactions and Block Deals in Pakistan including equity divestments of $143 M in KAPCO and $67 M in HUBCO.
He has worked closely with DEG to assist with their assets in Pakistan. He has been among the pioneers in private equity business in Pakistan and has successfully closed several sizeable transactions in a relatively short span of time. Jawad holds an MBA degree from LUMS
Yasin Iqbal Kodvavi

Head of Equities

Yasin Kodvavi has over 7 years of formal experience in Pakistan’s Equities Market. His career started in multiple roles at Shell Oil Company in Houston, Texas and more recently he has served as Director at Iqbal Usman Kodvavi Securities (Private) Limited. Yasin holds a BBA from University of Houston in Finance and Management Information Systems and has also successfully created the CFA  Level 1 exam and is actively pursuing his CFA Charter.

Maaz Azam

Head of Research

Maaz Azam, inspired by his time at Optimus Capital Management, is passionate about investments. With a diversified background spanning 5 years, he has delved into engineering, risk management, and finally into investments. Commencing his professional journey at Aish Steel Mills, Maaz subsequently navigated through roles at Descon Engineering, Lahore and Pak Brunei Investment. He holds a degree in Mechanincal Engineering form NUST and MBA from IBA Karachi. He has also cleared CFA Level 2 exam and is pursuing CFA Charter.

Salman Zaidi
Head of Money Market

Salman Zaidi started his career in financial market in 1998. Prior to joining Optimus Capital, he worked as a Head of Fixed Income at Invisor Securities and Crescent Capital Management for over 5 years. He has also served as a Senior Executive and Dealer Money Market at Crescent Capital Management. Salman Zaidi also worked with Mumtaz Enterprises as SVP Money Market. He has an extensive experience of around 20 years in Money and Bond Markets together with specialization in Brokerage and Corporate Advisory Role that have helped him in maintaining portfolio for his clients. Mr. Salman holds a Bachelor’s degree from University of Karachi.

Muhammad Ovais
Head of Equity Settlements

Muhammad Ovais has a vast experience of more than 20 years in Equity Settlements. He started his career in 1994 and served for more than a decade in well reputed brokerage houses of the Pakistan Stock Exchange which include Munaf Sattar Securities, Salim Chamdia Securities and Invisor Securities. His enriched experience in the field of equity brokerage provided him in-depth knowledge of settlement procedures and systems applicable in back office, CDC, NCHS, NCSS and KATS functions together with the knowledge of brokerage accounting and prevalent regulations provided him with added advantage in advancement throughout his career.
